Adopt at Valley River Humane Society

Welcome to our Adoption Hub! Please see adoption & fee information below.

If you find an animal (or more) that you and your family are interested in, please call to make an appointment to meet!
We highly encourage scheduling appointments for meet & greets to secure a time with one of our shelter representatives
(who know these animals better than anyone!), and to support our shelter schedule so we can better accommodate you.

Finding the Perfect Match at VRHS

Every animal deserves a loving home, and every family deserves the perfect companion. That’s why we take time to make sure it’s a great fit for everyone—including the furry family members you already have at home.

Before any adoption is finalized, we’ll arrange for you and your family to meet your potential new pet. We also offer meet-and-greets with any furry family members you may already have to ensure everyone gets along and feels comfortable. This careful matching process is how we create forever families, not just adoptions.

Below you’ll see adoption fees and a list of animals available for adoption and fostering.

Adoption Fees: Investing in Second Chances

,756Our adoption fees help us continue rescuing animals in need while ensuring each pet receives quality medical care, vaccinations, spaying or neutering, and lots of love before going home with you. These fees represent just a portion of what we invest in each animal—the rest comes from our community through the VRHS Thrift Shop, generous donations, grants, and fundraising events.

When you adopt, you’re not just bringing home a new best friend—you’re making room for us to save another life. And if adoption isn’t possible right now, fostering or donating helps us keep our doors open for the next animal who needs us.

Every contribution, every adoption, every act of kindness keeps hope flowing through Valley River Humane Society.
